Laboratory Technician of the Neurobiology & Behaviour Unit

For the Czech Centre for Phenogenomics (CCP) hosted by the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, we announce an open position of Laboratory technician of the Neurobiology & Behaviour unit.


CCP is a large research infrastructure that provides unique services for the biomedical and biotechnology research community in the fields of genome editing, phenotyping and animal model research.

Your main job responsibilities will be

  • performing non-invasive behavioral experiments in laboratory rodents, such as Open Field Arena, Novel Object Recognition, Startle Reflex recording, analysis of animal gait and similar,
  • elementary processing of data,
  • routine maintenance of laboratory equipment,
  • collaboration in the preparation and implementation of experiments,
  • other work activities as instructed by supervisors.

The ideal candidate has

  • at least high school / college degree in a relevant field (veterinary or medical laboratory technician or equivalent),
  • a very good relationship with laboratory rodents,
  • manual dexterity and great care,
  • medical fitness for working with animals,
  • knowledge of standard office software,
  • intermediate English (you will daily interact with foreign colleagues),

An experience of working in the laboratory, with rodent handling, study/work experience abroad and a valid certificate for working with laboratory animals are an advantage. However, the position is also suitable for graduates.
