Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IMG) was successful within the framework of the Jan Amos Comenius Operational Programme (OP JAK) and received financial support for the implementation of the Return Grants Project of the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, which is aimed at strengthening the scientific environment and the returning of top experts to research.


The implementation of the project will begin in February 2026. The expected announcement of calls for sub-projects will take place at the end of March 2026. The collection of applications is planned for the period from April to June 2026 and the subsequent evaluation of accepted projects in the period from July to August 2026. The actual implementation of the supported projects will begin in September 2026.

The “Return Grants” project aims to support the return of researchers who were forced to interrupt their careers due to maternity/parental leave, long-term illness or long-term care for a child or loved one.

This project represents a pilot initiative to strengthen the conditions for the return of scientific experts to research, which IMG intends to implement.
