Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences
On 25 February 2026, a memorandum was signed establishing the new joint-stock company CAS Innovations (CASI), aimed at strengthening the transfer of scientific results into practice and professionalizing the creation of spin-off companies. Among the eight founding shareholders is also the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IMG).
The company is being established as a subsidiary of the Czech Academy of Sciences and will introduce transparent procedures for the creation of technology companies as well as clear rules for the entry of external capital into promising projects. The initiative will also include an incubation program connecting research teams with strategic partners and investors.
By becoming a founding shareholder, IMG reaffirms its active commitment to supporting innovation and the commercialization of basic research results.
