Technology Preview: FLUOVIEW FV5000 Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope

  • Date & Time: 9. 9. 2026 - 15. 9. 2026
  • Location: IMG, Light Microscopy Core Facility

Light Microscopy Core Facility of the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IMG), in collaboration with SVEN BioLabs, is organizing a Technology Preview of the FLUOVIEW FV5000 confocal laser scanning microscope from Evident (Olympus).

The FLUOVIEW FV5000 is a new-generation confocal microscopy system designed for fast, sensitive, and quantitative imaging of biological samples. The new SilVIR™ detectors combine high sensitivity with an exceptionally wide dynamic range and enable fluorescence quantification at the single-photon level.

The system offers both high-speed imaging using a resonant scanner—suitable, for example, for monitoring dynamic processes in live samples—and galvo-controlled scanning with high pixel density for detailed imaging. The system’s automated functions and FLUOVIEW software simplify experiment setup and help ensure consistent and reproducible image data.

The event runs from 9 to 15 September, and during this period, the sessions on 9 and 15 September are also open to external participants, who can register for them separately.

The event will feature practical demonstrations and hands-on sessions. Participants are welcome to bring their own samples and test the capabilities of the FV5000 system on-site. You will have the opportunity to consult with an application specialist regarding sample suitability, experimental design, and optimal imaging settings.

If you plan to measure your own samples, we recommend consulting with us in advance regarding their preparation and imaging requirements.
