Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences
In the presence of the Deputy Minister of Education, Rector of Charles University Tomáš Zima, Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences Vladimír Mareček, and other prominent guests, the implementation part of project BIOCEV – Biotechnology and Biomedicine Centre of AS CR and CU in Vestec – was completed today. Full operation should start in January 2016. It should consist in implementation of five research programmes and launching six research infrastructures and core facilities. Until 2020, the BIOCEV Centre should absorb up to 450 researchers, including 200 doctoral students. Their efforts will be aimed at obtaining detailed knowledge of organisms at the molecular level, with results inspiring applied research and development of novel treatment strategies.
