Facility Access Policy
The Core Facility provides open, non-discriminatory access to its instrumentation and expertise and is accessible to both internal and external users.
Registration is required to use the instrumentation and services of the Core Facility.
Internal users (IMG employees) have access to the IMG Calpendo booking system within their IMG account.
An external user of the Electron Microscopy Core Facility is any user of the laboratory’s instrumentation and services who is not an IMG employee.
New external users who do not have an IMG account and access to the IMG Calpendo booking system must contact the Core Facility Head to gain access to the Core Facility .
Internal users and external users who already have an IMG account and access to the IMG Calpendo booking system register for the Core Facility directly in the booking system, as described in the instructions for registering the facility in the booking system. The user can cancel the registration at any time.
Since the spectrum of approaches and workflows in electron microscopy is very wide, we help users with the selection of the appropriate technique and planning the entire experiment. Sample preparation, imaging and data processing can be fully performed by the Core Facility staff, or we can provide sufficient training and support for the independent use of technology and equipment.
Usage of facility instrumentation is the subject of billing.
The Core Facility is part of the National Infrastructure for Biological and Medical Imaging – Czech-BioImaging. It provides subsidized “open access” to the users from academic institutions based on project registration in the “Czech-Bioimaging open access” program. Personal data is processed during the use of Czech-BioImaging research infrastructure services, especially open access, educational activities and conferences (Information on the processing of personal data).
International users
Register via the Euro-BioImaging access portal and when filling out the access proposal, click on the map for the Czech Republic and select “Advanced Light and Electron Microscopy Node Prague CZ”, of which we are a part. More information on access through Euro-Bioimaging ERIC can be found here. We can help you with the procedure.
If you are not sure about the choice of workplace or the availability of the relevant technology, you can use the services of the Czech-BioImaging access portal or contact us directly.
