A five-day course with theory and practical exercises covers the basics of processing and analysis of microscopic images, including the application of stereological methods. Great emphasis will be put on practical exercises using the freely available Fiji program (www.fiji.sc). Students will also use ilastik (www.ilastik.org) for segmentation, Huygens (www.svi.nl) for deconvolution and Imaris (www.bitplane.com/imaris/imaris) for 3D/4D visualization and analysis.
