The service laboratory processes samples for functional genomics and transcriptomics analyses, including spatial transcriptomics and single-cell–level analyses. We also provide next-generation sequencing (NGS) services. Our team offers consultations on project planning and experimental design and performs primary bioinformatic analysis of the generated data. These services are available to research groups at the Institute of Molecular Genetics, other academic institutions, and commercial partners.
The service laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies for genomic analyses, including Illumina NextSeq 2000 and Oxford Nanopore MinION Mk1B and PromethION 2 Solo sequencing platforms. For single-cell library preparation, the laboratory operates the 10x Genomics Chromium X system. The facility is also equipped with the Xenium platform for in situ analysis, which integrates high-resolution imaging, signal decoding, and downstream data analysis. Xenium In Situ enables high-throughput subcellular mapping of hundreds of RNA targets, providing new insights into cellular structure and function.
For spatial gene expression analysis, we use the Visium platform from 10x Genomics in combination with the CytAssist system. The laboratory is further equipped with a Leica CM1950 cryostat, a Leica DMi8 microscope, two RT-qPCR cyclers (Roche LightCycler 480), one CFX Opus Real-Time PCR cycler and a droplet digital PCR system (Bio-Rad QX200), and a multimode plate reader EnVision Plate Reader (PerkinElmer). Automated liquid dispensing is performed using the Mantis benchtop liquid dispenser (Formulatrix).
The facility also operates instruments for assessing the quality and quantity of analyzed samples, including a NanoDrop spectrophotometer, a Qubit fluorometer, and capillary electrophoresis systems (Agilent Bioanalyzer 2100 and Agilent Fragment Analyzer 5200). Two ultrasonic sonicators (Covaris ME220 and Bioruptor) are available as shared equipment.
The core facility is an integral part of Laboratory of Genomics and Bioinformatics.
