Open Postdoc Position in the RNA Metabolism and Retinal Disorders

3. 1. 2024

Laboratory of RNA Biology is seeking a highly motivated candidate to work on biogenesis of protein-RNA complexes involved in RNA splicing.

Project description

Our research group focuses on investigating the biogenesis of spliceosomal ribonucleoprotein (RNPs) complexes crucial for RNA splicing. Mutations in RNP components contribute to human hereditary diseases, specifically muscular atrophy and retinal degeneration. In this project, we aim to combine molecular biology with biochemistry to elucidate the molecular function of chaperones that assist and monitor the correct formation of RNPs.

Qualification

  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Strong background and hands-on experience in molecular biology and biochemistry of proteins and RNAs.
  • Welcomed experience with approaches analyzing the structure of protein complexes.
  • Ability to lead independent research projects and contribute to collaborative efforts within our international research team.
