We would like to invite all researchers, and especially PhD students, to join our 17th annual student conference on October 11, 2024.
This is our conference, organized by and for PhDs. That is why, this year we are shuffling things up, adding some new flavours to the program, and betting for a great after-party to celebrate our community! Stay tuned for our two invited international speakers, Mileidys Perez, who will cover the topics of how to build a Start-Up (yes, even during PhD) and Elodie Chabrol, who will guide us into the world of science communication!
Register by the 14th of September. After that, we’ll announce the final program.
Do you want to learn how to transform an idea into a real start-up? Mileidys Perez Alea is a senior scientist with more than 15 years of research experience in biochemistry and cellular & molecular biology. She graduated from the University of Havana, and obtained her PhD degree in oncological and experimental haematology at the University of Palermo in Italy. Most remarkably, during her PhD, Milly co-founded a start-up that ended up in the very successful company, Advanced BioDesign. During our conference she will come to tell us about her experience and the challenges she faced. Learn more about her work on LinkedIn.
Elodie Chabrol is a dynamic neuroscientist with a fervent passion for bridging the gap between scientists and the public. She earned her PhD in Neurogenetics in Paris and continued her research as a postdoctoral fellow at UCL, London. In 2013, Elodie got involved in the creation of the Pint of Science festival, and in 2014, she established its French branch. After years of balancing her research career with her dedication to Pint of Science, she transitioned to a full-time science communicator role. Currently, Elodie serves as the International & France Director for Pint of Science and engages in various freelance science communication projects, including training, podcasts, event organization, and moderation.
