We’re thrilled to announce that the 18th IMG PhD Conference will take place on 19 – 20 September 2025!
Registration deadline: 1 September 2025
Poster/presentation submission deadline: 15 September 2025
This year, we’re shaking things up with a brand-new venue: Chata Doubravka in Chotěboř – a cozy retreat outside of Prague that promises a fresh and inspiring atmosphere for sharing science, connecting with peers, and recharging together.
Transportation between IMG and the conference venue will be organized and covered by IMG, so no worries about logistics.
We’re proud to welcome two outstanding invited speakers to this year’s conference:
Nathalie Jurisch-Yaksi leads a research group at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology that focuses on the development and function of cilia and the brain’s ventricular system, using zebrafish as a model. Her work combines advanced imaging, molecular biology, and neurodevelopment to understand how cerebrospinal fluid flow influences brain function.
She is also a strong advocate for open science and data accessibility, and she will join us to speak about the FAIR principles – making data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable in biomedical research.

Silvia Jamrichova is a neuroscience PhD student in Peter Jonas’s group at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria, where she studies synaptic transmission and plasticity at mossy fibre synapses in the hippocampus. Using subcellular patch-clamp, super-resolution imaging, and behavioural experiments, she explores how these synapses contribute to memory processes such as pattern separation and completion in both transgenic mice and the human brain.
As a strong enthusiast of building bridges between fields, she will speak about the power of collaboration and interdisciplinarity in advancing curiosity-driven research.
You can learn more by following her on LinkedIn.
As always, the conference is a great opportunity to present your research in a friendly and supportive environment. Whether you want to give a 1-, 5-, or 15-minute talk or a poster, we’d love to hear from you! Just note it when signing up in the registration form.
